18/08/2026 SQUARE talk – “CAVECORE Paris PhD School – Maritime-focused projects” by Victor, Stefan, and Harshith

SPEAKERS: Victor, Stefan and Harshith, PhD Fellows. at ITU

ABSTRACT: The Paris PhD School was an important milestone for the CAVECORE project, which aims to advance cognitive robotics and develop systematic approaches to evaluating and validating the quality, safety, and reliability of robots operating in open-ended, real-world environments. The event brought together all PIs and PhD students for the first time, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, share research perspectives, and develop a shared understanding of the project’s overarching goals.

Within the CAVECORE framework, Harshith, Victor, and Stefan represent maritime-focused research projects. In this talk, each will provide an overview of their project, outlining its objectives, current progress, and key challenges. Together, these contributions highlight the diverse approaches being pursued to address research questions in the maritime domain, ultimately contributing to the CAVECORE initiative’s broader goal of developing reliable cognitive robotics.
